18 sie Indirect questions – Have you got any idea why so many lawyers make that mistake? OR Have you got any idea why do so many lawyers make that mistake?
Have you got any idea…? Do you know…? Can you tell me…?
DIRECT QUESTION: Did they sign the contract?
INDIRECT QUESTION: Have you got any idea if/whether they signed the contract?
DIRECT QUESTION: When was the mortgage established?
INDIRECT QUESTION: Do you know when the mortgage was established?
DIRECT QUESTION: Where will they deliver the products?
INDIRECT QUESTION: Can you tell me where they will deliver the products?
I don’t know… I can’t tell you… We will have to find out….I would like to know…
DIRECT QUESTION: Is this clause confidential?
SENTENCE WITH INDIRECT QUESTION: I don’t know if/whether this clause is confidential.
DIRECT QUESTION: How long have they been operating under that corporate name?
SENTENCE WITH INDIRECT QUESTION: We will have to find out how long they have been operating under that corporate name.
DIRECT QUESTION: When will I be able to leave this boring meeting?
SENTENCE WITH INDIRECT QUESTION: I would like to know when I will be able to leave this boring meeting.
